In a world where technology is reshaping every industry, 17-year-old Arjun Vinayaka Doss is bringing innovation to the world of martial arts through his initiative, SHEild Taekwondo.
A student of the National Academy for Learning in Bengaluru and a 3rd-degree Black Belt, Arjun has spent over a decade mastering Taekwondo. Today, he is combining his expertise with artificial intelligence to make martial arts education more accessible and effective.
His journey began in 2022 when he volunteered at a government school. While teaching basic subjects, he observed that students lacked confidence and awareness about personal safety. This inspired him to introduce Taekwondo training.
What began as a grassroots effort soon grew into SHEild Taekwondo, an initiative aimed at empowering youth with discipline, confidence, and self-defense skills.
However, Arjun quickly realized that access to quality coaching remained a major challenge. Many students could not afford professional training or lacked access to experienced instructors.
To bridge this gap, he developed TaekAI—an AI-powered web platform designed to transform Taekwondo learning. The platform provides structured guidance, performance feedback, and personalized training support.
TaekAI allows students to learn at their own pace while maintaining high standards of training. It represents a significant step toward democratizing martial arts education.
Through SHEild, Arjun has already conducted free workshops for over 100 students. His efforts have been supported by ₹40,000 in funding, which he uses to provide equipment and cover examination fees.
His initiative also extends beyond physical training. Arjun has written a comprehensive Taekwondo handbook, created a peer mentorship system, and collaborated with students to develop inspiring comic stories based on real-life challenges.
These initiatives foster not only physical strength but also emotional resilience and community bonding.
Arjun’s work highlights how traditional disciplines like Taekwondo can evolve through innovation. By integrating AI and social impact, he is creating a scalable model for youth empowerment.
As he continues to grow SHEild and TaekAI, Arjun Doss is proving that age is no barrier to leadership, innovation, and meaningful change.
