The Woke Collection Brings International Moissanite and Lab-Grown Gem Trends to India, With a New Drop Every 45 Days

The Lucknow jewellery brand is making moissanite and coloured lab-grown gems a favourite for gifting and travel, while its lab-grown diamonds win a growing place in wedding jewellery.

Lucknow, India, November 2026

The Woke Collection, a Lucknow-based jewellery brand founded by Utkarsh Gupta, is bringing jewellery trends from international markets to Indian buyers through moissanite, lab-grown emeralds, rainbow sapphires and lab-grown diamonds. The brand releases a new drop of designs every 45 days, so that styles popular abroad reach its customers in India quickly.

Backed by a family legacy of more than 60 years in jewellery craftsmanship, the brand describes its idea as "Woke Luxury": jewellery with the brilliance and finish of high jewellery, at prices that more people can reach. It sells online across India and through its flagship store in Aminabad, Lucknow, and says it has served more than 10,000 customers.

International Trends, a New Drop Every 45 Days

Several of the brand's collections are styles that have been popular overseas but hard to find in India. Old Mine Revival brings back the soft, antique look of the old mine cut. East West designs set an oval or elongated stone sideways across the finger. The Rainbow Series lines up lab-grown sapphires in a full spectrum of colours across tennis bracelets, necklaces and studs. The brand marks these collections as a first in India on its website.

Woke also offers lab-grown emeralds, rubies and sapphires, including pink sapphires, often set alongside moissanite in earrings, pendants, necklaces and tennis bracelets. Lab-grown gems share the chemical make-up of their mined counterparts: a lab-grown emerald is beryl, and a lab-grown sapphire is corundum. This lets the brand offer rich colour and larger stones at prices well below those of comparable mined gems.

Each release goes live on the brand's New Drop page. Recent drops have featured old mine cut moissanite rings in 9K gold, lab-grown emerald earrings and the "Aurelia" halo and toi et moi rings.

A Gifting and Travel Favourite

Woke says its moissanite and coloured gem pieces are fast becoming the jewellery its customers choose for gifts and for travel, in place of crystal fashion jewellery from brands such as Swarovski. The difference lies in the material.

Moissanite is a gemstone in its own right. Made of silicon carbide, it was first identified by the French chemist Henri Moissan in fragments of a meteorite found in Arizona in 1893. It scores 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale, close to diamond's 10, and its refractive index of 2.65 to 2.69 is higher than diamond's, which gives it strong sparkle and fire. Crystal, by contrast, is a type of precision-cut glass that sits at around 6 to 7 on the same scale and can scratch or chip with regular wear.

That durability, together with gifting price points, is what Woke believes makes moissanite the easy choice. Moissanite rings on its site start at about ₹9,900 and moissanite studs at ₹7,500, and the brand runs curated gift edits under ₹6,999, ₹10,000 and ₹20,000. For travel, buyers get the look of a large, bright stone that can be worn every day without the worry that comes with carrying expensive mined diamonds. Each moissanite is sold with a certificate.

Lab-Grown Diamonds Move Into Wedding Jewellery

Alongside moissanite, Woke sells lab-grown diamonds as a separate category, certified by IGI or SGL. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, with the same chemistry, hardness and sparkle as mined stones; they are grown in a laboratory instead of being mined. The brand's range covers solitaire engagement rings in 9K, 14K and 18K gold, wedding bands for men and women, tennis bracelets, studs, necklaces and lab-grown diamond mangalsutras.

Woke sees lab-grown diamonds steadily replacing mined diamonds in wedding jewellery, and global data points the same way. According to The Knot 2026 Real Weddings Study, 61% of US couples surveyed who married in 2025 chose a lab-grown diamond for the engagement ring, up from 52% the year before and just 12% in 2019. In India, Future Market Insights values the lab-grown diamond jewellery market at USD 453.7 million in 2026 and expects it to grow by 14.8% a year to 2036, with rings, driven by bridal and engagement buying, making up 36.2% of demand.

For Indian couples and families, the shift means a larger solitaire or a fuller bridal set within the same budget, from the engagement ring to the mangalsutra.

Craftsmanship and Service

Every Woke piece is handmade by the brand's production team in silver, gold and platinum, and its silver jewellery is stamped S925 or WOKE925 to mark purity. The brand offers an exchange policy, a Design Your Own Jewellery service for custom pieces, and in-store viewing at its Lucknow flagship.
